Dexter Henry is a video journalist and content producer from Brooklyn, NY with a passion for telling stories via both images and words.


Dexter obtained a B.A. in Media Communications from the University of Pittsburgh in 2005.  Since that time, he has worked for various media outlets throughout the New York City area covering both sports and general assignment news.


Over the years Dexter has worked for various outlets including the New York Post, New York Daily News, ESPN Deportes, New York Giants, Fios 1, SB Nation, the News 12 Networks and the Accuweather Network. 


Dexter is also the founder of his own media outlet 'Backpack Broadcasting'. In 2017, he created two original sports web series', 'Sideline Stories' and 'The Sports Walk'. Currently he is also the co-host of the 'Ain't Hard To Tell Podcast' and host of 'The NBA Exchange'.


In 2021 Dexter was nominated for the Stuart Scott Award by the New York Association Of Black Journalists. Dexter's content creations and in-depth storytelling have won several awards including a 2021 Telly Award for his short documentary, 'Sports Voices Matter'. 


Dexter considers himself a sports enthusiast and enjoys spending time watching and attending sporting events. He also enjoys traveling and creating new experiences connected to food whenever it is possible.
