Donovan Potts bought his first camera at 11 years old by selling magazines to his neighbors.


He discovered the art of video storytelling by watching lots of news in St. Louis, then developed his skills at the University of Missouri School of Journalism.


He reported, shot and produced stories that were used to teach later students for years after he graduated.


Donovan brings 20 years of video storytelling experience to the StorySmart team. He worked for 13 years in television news at stations in Rockford, Ill., Oklahoma City, Kansas City and St. Louis.


After TV, he built and maintained video production facilities and told the stories of universities in Oregon and Oklahoma. He is now looking forward to telling stories in the Pacific Northwest. 


Donovan lives in Puyallup, Washington with his wife and their dog, who is lying at his feet as he writes this.
