Jennifer Johnson Biography

Jennifer Johnson

Multimedia Journalist

Detroit, Michigan

Jen is a graduate of Wayne State University’s Fine Performing and Communication Arts Department located in the heart of Metro Detroit.

She grew up during the 90s in a suburb of southeast Detroit. Her writing was fueled by her love of children’s horror story author, R.L. Stine.  She would spend long nights pouring over her vintage Smith-Corona typewriter envisioning creepy tale after creepy tale.

As the years passed, this passion of writing evolved into other creative projects and led her to pursue a bachelor's degree in Communications with a major in Media Arts and Studies and a concentration in production.

It wasn’t long before she was producing, writing, acting and modeling alongside notable Producers and Directors at WDIV, PBS and major advertising agencies.

Her background in these varying creative projects led her to find her voice as a storyteller and she’s been pursuing creative endeavors that offer this outlet ever since. Fascinated by the idea of helping others find their own voice she was called to StorySMART.

Most recently Jen is flexing her skills as a multimedia journalist, ever eager to pursue the next lead and help tell the story.
