Joy Addison Biography

Joy Addison

Multimedia Journalist

Houston, Texas

Joy Addison is an on-camera news reporter and storyteller based in Houston, Texas.

With over 4 years of news reporting and journalism experience, Joy specializes in investigative reporting and feature story-telling. She has broken several historical stories including the first case of COVID-19 in Texas, the Exxon Mobil Lockout, and an alleged police brutality case escalated to the Texas Attorney General.

She also has extensive experience with storm and hurricane coverage, but her specialties don't stop there. As a weekend reporter, Joy became proficient in covering community events and feature storytelling. She has been nominated for several press-club recognitions and hopes to secure an Emmy in the near future.

When she's not storytelling, Joy spends her time using her Master of Arts in Industrial and Organizational Psychology to help develop her craft of business development, with her human and business development consulting firm. She credits this degree for aiding her in storytelling, and helping her to further understand the way people function independently and within a system.

During her free time, she enjoys practicing Muay Thai and running nature trails with her Goldendoodle puppy Prince. She also competes in pageants and has held several state and regional titles in her home state of Mississippi which led to her nominations for Miss Mississippi and Miss Mississippi USA.

She now has dreams to one day take up entertainment news reporting and host her own lifestyle show.
