Lydia Magallanes has always loved telling stories and dreamed of publishing novels and poetry as a teenager.


In high school, she discovered video production and eventually studied broadcast media in college. For nearly a decade, Lydia has had her hands on a camera as a student, intern, professional and freelancer.


In April of 2021, Lydia moved to the Inland Empire in Southern California with her husband from Savannah, Georgia. She previously lived in Louisiana since 2008.


Lydia currently works as a multimedia content creator for a nonprofit organization that shares the experiences of military families through theater, expressive arts and digital storytelling.


Previously, she worked as an anchor and reporter in central and south Louisiana for six years, mainly covering sports and military affairs.


During the pandemic, Lydia lived in Guadalajara, Mexico where she helped elementary-age students across Latin America improve their conversational English as an online tutor. Her hobbies include rock climbing and crafting.
