Melanie Streeper-Steen

Melanie Streeper-Steen is a video journalist and content producer with Story Smart LLC. She’s from St. Louis, MO and has a passion for storytelling.

Prior to joining Story Smart, Melanie was an Executive Producer and Lifestyle Host with the NBC affiliate in Springfield, MO. She launched the weekday program “The Place” and served as its manager, overseeing four MMJ’s. In fact, her experience includes launching two lifestyle shows. In 2015, she launched “Good Day Marketplace” for the Fox affiliate in Central Illinois. She worked as Host/EP on that show for three years. 

Melanie got her start in St. Louis radio 25+ years ago, and would transition to working as a TV Reporter – holding on air jobs with KPLR, KTVI and KMOV. She also spent some time on the west coast, working for KGTV, the ABC affiliate in San Diego. And she’s held freelance positions with CNN Headline News, KOLD-TV (Tucson) and WDSU-TV (New Orleans). 

Melanie earned a Master’s Degree in Communications with an emphasis in Promotions from Lindenwood University. In her spare time, she enjoys watching football. She’s also a passionate animal advocate and has been a volunteer/social media manager for a local dog rescue for nearly a decade.
