Steve Maloney started a career in print journalism over 15 years ago, writing for newspapers and magazines in the New Orleans area. After making the switch to online content in 2011, Steve has worked in marketing departments and run websites for a variety of businesses.
He served as a writer and web editor for OffBeat Magazine, webmaster for gonola.com, and was a featured blogger for the Huffington Post before getting into broadcast journalism. During his tenure as Executive Producer of Online Content at WGNO, Steve was in charge of the station’s website and social media accounts.
Steve dove headfirst into video content creation while at WGNO, pumping out hundreds of web exclusive videos as well as producing full stories for newscasts. A lifelong storyteller, Steve comes from a long line of journalists, including his great-great-great grandfather Carlos Menendez, a founder of the Associated Press in Mexico.
Steve lives with his wife and four young children in New Orleans, where he is a strong supporter of New Orleans music and culture.
